Who we help
Biochar Carbon Projects for FPOs & Cooperatives
For Farmer Producer Organisations and cooperatives, biochar offers a rare combination: new income for members, healthier soils, and an end to residue burning. We help FPOs aggregate biomass and member farms into a single, credible biochar carbon project.

The opportunity for you
FPOs and cooperatives can pool dispersed residue and farmland into the scale a biochar project needs — and pass benefits back to members as income and better soils. Biochar applied to member fields can improve water-holding and yields over time (observed effects vary and are not guaranteed).
The challenge is coordination: many small plots, seasonal residue and the need for disciplined records. We design aggregation, farmer engagement and digital MRV so a distributed project still produces credits buyers trust.

Why buyers care
FPO-led projects carry a strong co-benefit and smallholder-livelihood story that many corporate buyers actively seek. We help you evidence those co-benefits credibly so they strengthen — not dilute — the carbon claim.
How we help
- Aggregation design across member farms and residue streams
- Farmer training and engagement for correct biochar use
- Digital MRV suited to many dispersed application sites
- Agronomic application design for soil and yield co-benefits
Services for this segment
Agronomic Biochar & Soil Application
Agronomic biochar advisory realises biochar’s value in the field — soil health, water-holding and yield — alongside carbon. We design application rates, field trials and farmer engagement so soil use is agronomically sound and MRV-compliant.
Learn more →Biochar MRV (Digital MRV)
Biochar MRV — measurement, reporting and verification — is how a project proves each tonne of CO₂ it removes. We design conservative, audit-ready MRV systems, including digital MRV (dMRV) that captures production and application data at source so verification is faster and disputes are rarer.
Learn more →Biochar Carbon Project Development
Biochar carbon project development is the end-to-end process of turning a biomass resource into issued, sellable carbon-removal credits. We act as your development partner from first feasibility through to issuance and sale, coordinating feedstock, technology, MRV, registry and offtake as one programme.

FAQs
Common questions
Can a project pool residue from many small farms?
Yes — aggregation is exactly how FPOs reach viable scale. The key is disciplined logistics and record-keeping across dispersed plots, which we design for using farmer engagement and digital MRV.
What do member farmers get out of it?
Potentially two things: a share of carbon revenue (estimated, not guaranteed, and dependent on volume and price) and agronomic benefits from applying biochar to their soils. We design the project so benefits flow back to members.
